This is no longer a restaurant. There is a Mama DeLuca's Pizza, Subway, & a Chester's. The pizza and pasta is made to order and awesome. They also have a Wisconsin cheese case, the standard snacks &drinks, and a variety of local items. It is very clean and the staff is attentive and friendly. Definitely would recommend. Was a bit disappointed that the restaurant was no longer here but I was told it's been 5 yrs since it closed.
I had the grouwster ovenschotel, a traditional dutch dish, and it was excellent. Not something you see on your everyday diners menu and I suggest you take the opportunity to try it. Chili was good, coffee was good and the price is right .
24 hr diner/store. Yummy coffee, good service. "Ellens oven dish" was yummy comfort food with hamburger, bacon, onions topped with mashed 'taters and a side of warm canned peaches. They have a Subway inside the restaurant. Typical truck stop trinkets and gear inside the store.
Great potions for the price! Good food! Will come back! Not the usual frozen crap from the regular truck stops.
I've driven past this truck stop dozens of times. I never stopped. Why? Because it's not a Kwik Trip, and in Wisconsin, Kwik Trip is a religion. This morning I had to pee. It looks like your average aging truck stop/travel plaza. A few restaurant counters, a convenience store, bathrooms, clean, no frills. Prices usually higher than other stores (or Kwik Trip.) The pleasant surprise came when I walked past a rack of breakfast sandwiches. Maybe it's because I was starving, but they caught my eye. They were larger than average, appeared to be made fresh in house, and ~$4. I got two. One was a western omelette sandwich, which is exactly what it sounds like. The other was a brat burger, which was also exactly what it sounds like. It tasted exactly like a fresh Wisconsin brat, but in patty form. Both had enough flavor that they did not need additional sauces. None of the restaurants were open when I stopped, and the convenience items were too pricey for impulse buys. I will definitely be going back for that brat burger.
